It's within the Golden Circle area in South Iceland, an hour and a half drive from Reykjavik. Bruarfoss is a small but striking waterfall in South Iceland, …

The location is absolutely stunning. Truly beautiful low waterfall and mountain backdrop. Unfortunately everybody knows about it. Despite the gravel road and single lane bridge access, coaches still …Full review by TripletA

One the most stunning views of the whole trip. Highly recommend and can just walk in. Great spots for photos and easy to get to. Our air bnb was within walking distance but I'd recommend adding this …Full review by Lemon_36

Grateful they built a road here, so the rescue service doesn't need to always be up here. It also makes it accessible for northern lights without having to camp out here. Sunrise, sunset, and norther…Full review by alexander8290
Hi, thinking to do this hike with 3 year old kid. Can anyone suggest which one is the closest parking other than official parking from which it takes only 10 mins to reach the waterfall? Read in many reviews they hiked from private property which is the easiest trail but not able to find in Google maps. Please help. Thanks in advance

Hello! Is this a doable hike in late November if we hit the trail right when the sun comes up? If not does anyone have another suggestion? Thanks in advance?

I agree with the previous answer - you'll have to check weather conditions prior to and on the day. The biggest challenge will definitely be the mud - I visited at the beginning of autumn, and the one patch (albeit only a short distance) was already VERY muddy. You'll have to have good boots (that you won't feel sorry for!), and hiking poles will help a lot. You are also likely to get mud on your trousers. If you can make it, however, it will be absolutely worth it - in my opinion one of the most awesome pictures in Iceland!
Hello, I am going to Iceland in 2 weeks. I read lot of article about "how to reach Bruarfoss" but still not sure how to go there from Reykjavik. Regards, Raj

We used WAZE as our navigator. We typed in Bruarfoss and it took us to the parking lot just after the bridge. From there we followed the directions on the internet. The first half of the trail is easy to navigate. But when you get almost halfway the trail is blocked with a big sign saying no trespassing and private property. From there the trail goes tot he right and up a small hill then cross country until you come out on a road. Make a left on the gravel road and follow it for about 3/4 of a mile. Then follow the small wooden signs that direct you back into the path thru thick brush and next to the creek again. Then up to the waterfall. It is worth the trouble. The falls are incredible because of the color of the water. Takes 45-60 minutes.
Did you take a tour of the golden circle or go by car Is it difficult or easy.

We rented a car and it was the best decision. All roads are easily navigational. The tours are busses packed full of people. Renting a car makes you able to make random stops along the way. Bruarfoss may not be on a tour as it’s a lesser known waterfall. Put it on your itinerary! The hike is easy and it’s worth it!
