Luka Doncic recently shared how he wishes to be remembered in the Los Angeles Lakers, offering potential hints on his long-term plans amid doubts about his future in the NBA.

For the third time in the last three years and the second time in 2025, veteran point guard Marcus Smart will be finding a new home.

Marcus Smart plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers after getting bought out by the Washington Wizards, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.  Luka Doncic recruited Smart to the Lakers.  Smart played for the Memphis Grizzlies and Wizards last season.

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly committed to keeping their salary sheet clean for the summer of 2026, with a long-term plan that centers around finding Luka Doncic’s future co-star. According to Dan Woike, the franchise is positioning itself to make a major move once it gains access to its 2026, 2031, and 2033 first-round picks.

Last season, the LA Lakers pulled off a stunning blockbuster by acquiring Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks. As they continue to build out around their new superstar talent, one key member of the Denver Nuggets is on their radar as a possible running mate.
