The Guardians (49-50) have won nine of their last 11 games since ending their 10-game losing streak. They trail first-place Detroit by 10 games and are 3 1/2 games behind the Red Sox for the third wild card spot. Tampa Bay (52-49) and Texas (51-50) are in front of them.

Jose Ramirez hit a three-run homer and Bo Naylor and Kyle Manzardo had solo shots as the Cleveland Guardians beat the visiting Baltimore Orioles 10-5 in their series opener Monday night.

The Orioles led 3-0 and 5-3 but couldn’t hold onto either lead as the Guardians pulled away with a series-opening win.

José Ramírez picked the Guardians up off the mat in the first inning with a three-run blast and Cleveland’s offense caused headaches for Orioles pitchers with traffic on the bases throughout the night en route to a 10-5 win at Progressive Field.

The Guardians were knocking on the door all night. The home team in red had every opportunity to break the door down in their eventual 10-5 victory over the Orioles. Inning after inning, Cleveland just couldn't deliver with runners in scoring position.
