Former Team USA swimmer Gary Hall Jr., who earned 10 Olympic medals during his career, will be provided with replicas of those medals after he lost them in the deadly California wildfires, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said on Sunday.

Hall earned five golds, three silvers and two bronze medals while competing for the United States in three Olympics. He is a two-time Olympic champion in the 50-meter freestyle and helped the U.S. to podium finishes in five relays over his career.

“Currently the full focus must be on the fight against the fires and the protection of the people and property. We have also learned that a great Olympian, Gary Hall Jr., has lost his medals in the fire. The IOC will provide him with replicas.”
