Just days after Lorenzo Carter's surprise retirement, the Tennessee Titans are adding edge rush help in the form of veteran Jihad Ward.
The Tennessee Titans announced a surprise retirement on the first day of training camp, as Lorenzo Carter has made the decision to hang up the cleats at just 29 years old. Carter signed a one-year deal with Tennessee earlier this offseason after spending three years with the Atlanta Falcons.
Carter,29, was a third-round draft pick of the Giants in 2018 out of Georgia, taken with the 66th overall pick. He played four seasons in New York before signing with the Atlanta Falcons during his free agency in 2022. He spent three years there and signed with the Titans in March of this year.
Former New York Giants pass rusher Lorenzo Carter decided to call it a career on Tuesday, just months after landing with the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
This started with the release of long-tenured edge rusher Harold Landry III, once a Pro Bowler for the Titans. They replaced him with veterans like Dre’Mont Jones and Lorenzo Carter in free agency, as well as rookies like Femi Oladejo.
