Sitting on one of college football's hottest seats entering the 2025 season, Maryland coach Mike Locksley explained Tuesday at Big Ten Media Days why the 2024 campaign was a major disappointment for the Terps.

Maryland football lost a ton of games in 2024, but Mike Locksley admitted he lost the locker room before those on-field losses. Speaking to ESPN on July 22, Locksley said he lost the locker room over which players he needed to compensate with NIL.

Maryland coach Mike Locksley left Penn State's Beaver Stadium in a fit last November, upset that Nittany Lions coach James Franklin's team scored a touchdown as time expired. Locksley had words with Franklin after Penn State's 44-7 win over the Terps and later called the touchdown "bulls---."
