NAACP Detroit will host an MLK Day Celebration and Community Conversations on Moving Dr. King’s Dream Forward from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Wayne County Community College District, Northwest Campus, 8200 W. Outer Drive. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Michigan is home to five national parks plus a 1,150 mile-stretch of the North Country National Scenic Trail. However, Isle Royale National Park is closed for the winter and will reopen in April. Daily admission, typically $25, is waived on Monday for these four parks:
