Kill the Justice League developer Rocksteady — previously of Batman: Arkham fame — was hit with another round of layoffs just before the end of 2024. The news comes via Eurogamer, who spoke to "half a dozen" anonymous staff affected by these most recent redundancies.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League turned out to be one of the biggest failures of last year. Despite this, the developers decided to complete the announced four seasons of new content. Work on the last, fourth, is almost finished, and probably for this reason, layoffs were carried out in the Rocksteady studio responsible for the project.

That news came after Warner Bros. declared Suicide Squad to be a financial disappointment in February last year, with the game representing an embarrassing $200 million loss for the company's gaming division. There's only so much Hogwarts Legacy can do to offset a loss like that.
