Houston Mayor John Whitmire urged Houston residents to not get complacent now that the snow has stopped falling "Hear me!" Whitmire beckoned at a Tuesday press conference. "We're halfway there. The next 24 hours will be the most dangerous.

Houston is preparing for a historic winter storm expected to bring up to 6 inches of snow, a rare event not seen in decades.

All Houston airports will reopen Wednesday after shutting down on Jan. 21 as a winter storm barreled through South Texas.

Even though the airports are back open, there are still about 500 flights between Bush and Hobby airports that have been canceled on Wednesday.
