Borussia Dortmund has signed Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka on loan until the end of the season. The loan deal includes an option to buy this upcoming summer worth around $40 million. The transfer was concluded just in time for the winter transfer window to close for Bundesliga clubs on Monday afternoon.

The 21-year-old signed from Aston Villa in August 2022 and has made 32 appearances to date, scoring two goals.

Carney Chukwuemeka’s late-developing move to Borussia Dortmund has been completed today, on transfer deadline day, with the 21-year-old joining the Bundesliga side on loan for the rest of the season.

Carney Chukwuemeka looks set to spend at least the rest of the season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, though it could turn into a longer stay as well with reports of a buy-option north of £40m also included in the deal.
