A federal investigator said in a affidavit Tuesday that a man charged in connection with the fatal mass shooting at Tuskegee University on Saturday told him that he fired his gun but denied aiming at anyone.

Jacquez Myrick said he bought the gun online and that it came with several machine gun conversion devices, according to court records.

According to an arrest affidavit, Zakiyy Lucas fired a shot toward people during a disturbance in October 2022.
