Iowa took control early and put away rival Minnesota well before halftime in its most impressive Big Ten win this year so far
Mark Gronowski didn’t throw for a ton of yards, but he made Penn State pay on the ground. The Iowa quarterback rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns, single-handedly setting up the Hawkeyes’ final score with a 67-yard scamper down the sideline. Kamari Moulton also chipped in on the ground with 99 yards on 17 carries.
Minnesota (5-3, 3-2) was more than overwhelmed offensively. Iowa held the Golden Gophers to 133 total yards, 10 first downs and a 4-for-13 mark on third down. A field goal at the end of the third quarter was the only thing that prevented the Hawkeyes' first Floyd of Rosedale shutout since 2009.
The Hawkeyes' returner has been critical in Iowa's game this season. With four opponents left in the regular season, special teams coordinator LeVar Woods expects the same consistency from Kaden Wetjen.
