Hail, downpours, and even isolated tornadoes are possible for a swath of the country throughout the coming week, meteorologists predicted.

A tornado watch is in effect for parts of northern Texas until 11 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth.

On Monday, 36 million people are under the risk of severe storms in which strong tornadoes, hail up to 2 inches in diameter and damaging straight-line winds are possible.
