An island-wide blackout hit Puerto Rico this week, leaving 1.4 million customers without power and more than 400,000 without water.

All 1.4 million Luma Energy clients across Puerto Rico were without power on Wednesday. The blackout comes less than five months after another island-wide power outage on New Year's Eve.

Nearly 620,000 are still without power in Puerto Rico on Thursday, more than 24 hours after the entire island lost electricity when its power plants were knocked out of service, the latest breakdown of the territory’s faulty electric grid.
