Major League Baseball's 2024 awards season is underway and, Monday night, MLB and the Baseball Writers Association of America revealed the top three finalists for each of the four major awards. Those are Rookie of the Year,

Shohei Ohtani won the 2024 National League Hank Aaron Award in his first season with the Dodgers. It’s the second Aaron Award in a row for Ohtani, who won in 2023 with the Angels, and is the first player to win the award in both leagues.

Ohtani would also become the 12th player in history to win at least three MVP awards. Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Roy Campanella, Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle, Albert Pujols, Stan Musial, Mike Trout, Alex Rodriguez and Mike Schmidt also won three MVPs. Only one player has won more — Barry Bonds (seven).
