Mapped: Typhoon Usagi weakens over Philippines but Taiwan braces for severe weather - Heavy rains accompanying storm may cause flash flooding in low-lying and inland areas

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a sea warning early today for Typhoon Usagi, which is expected to move into the Bashi Channel south of Taiwan before brushing past the southeastern part of the country.

Typhoon Usagi struck the northern Philippines on Thursday afternoon, the fifth powerful storm to impact the country in three weeks, with the system set to swing north and move toward Taiwan.
