The colossal squid, the heaviest invertebrate in the world, was captured on video swimming in the deep sea for the first time since it was identified a century ago.

It may be the biggest invertebrate on the planet, but we don’t know much about it. The first time scientists learned of the colossal squid was in 1925. Remains of the massive sea creature had been found inside a sperm whale’s stomach.
