Digest more
The Minnesota Timberwolves have made the Western Conference Finals in each of the last two seasons. With Anthony Edwards averaging a career-high 29.6 points per game and Julius Randle settling nicely in his second season with the team, Wolves fans are confident that their squad can finally get over the hump this year.
It's an 8 p.m. CT game on Tuesday for the Wolves (27-16) in Salt Lake City against the Jazz (14-29). Utah will be on the second half of a back-to-back after losing to the Spurs on Monday. Leading scorer Lauri Markkanen (illness) did not play in that game. Breakout third-year guard Keyonte George scored 30 points in the Utah loss.
Again playing without Anthony Edwards, the Wolves missed 15 free throws and committed 16 turnovers against the Rockets.
Julius Randle had 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 8 in Minneapolis.
Anthony Edwards had seen enough. During an ensuing timeout, he tossed his towel in frustration, left the bench and headed into the tunnel with 7:52 remaining. He did not return to watch the rest of Minnesota's 126-102 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Randle had season-high 39 points for the Timberwolves on a night when Anthony Edwards missed a second straight game with a foot issue.
