Throughout the day on Friday, there were numerous crashes along I-40 and other main roads as road conditions worsened.

Snow is creating slick and hazardous conditions on the roadways across East Tennessee. Several areas have activated snow plans, which means authorities are closely monitoring calls for service and officers are out in pairs to respond to priority calls.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Blount County Highway Department are getting their equipment ready to go out in the elements.
