With new Chelsea signing Joao Pedro scoring a brace against his former club Fluminense at their Club World Cup semifinal, the gauntlet has been laid in the battle for who should start at striker for Chelsea.

The 23-year-old Brazilian international moved to Rio de Janeiro to join the Fluminense youth academy at the age of 10, before moving to England (Watford, Brighton and now Chelsea) shortly after his 18th birthday in 2019.

Standing in their way is Fluminense, who will become the third Brazilian side Chelsea have faced in the Club World Cup this summer after Flamengo and Palmeiras. The winner of Tuesday's tie in New Jersey will play Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid in Sunday's final - a chance to make history.
