The Colonial Pipeline has temporarily shut its main gasoline line – America’s largest fuel pipeline – because of leak in Georgia, the pipeline’s operator and local officials said.

Colonial Pipeline's main U.S. gasoline artery is expected to remain shut through Friday as the company continues to search for the source of a suspected leak in Paulding County, Georgia, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Emergency workers and crews with the Colonial Pipeline are on the scene in Paulding County responding to a possible gasoline release.

Colonial Pipeline, the largest refined products pipeline operator in the United States, said on Tuesday it was responding to a report of a potential gasoline release in Paulding County, Georgia and that one of its mainlines was temporarily shut down.

Colonial Pipeline, the company that operates the nation’s largest gasoline pipeline, is reporting a possible leak in west Georgia. A spokesperson for the company shared a statement with Channel 2 Action News confirming they are investigating a “potential gas release on our right of way” in Paulding County.
