What once looked like a near-done deal may now be slipping away as talks between the Gunners and Sporting CP have reportedly hit a brick wall. The North London club had apparently agreed personal terms with the Swedish striker. Gyokeres was even ready to sign a five-year deal.

Viktor Gyokeres becoming an Arsenal player seems inevitable but there are still some finer details to resolve with Sporting CP. The 27-year-old and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko were quickly identified as Arsenal's two potential striker signings with negotiations for both taking place.
