The Maui Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened on Monday, Sept. 16 near the intersection of Honoapiilani Highway and Waiolu Place.

Maui Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Shawn Lewis. Investigators say he was the only one in the vehicle found near the intersection of Honoapiilani Highway and Waiolu Place. MPD says they are still investigating the sequence of events leading up to Lewis’s death but classified the case as a “shooting incident”.
