The captain and first officer of an Air Canada Express flight have died after their aircraft collided with a fire truck on the runway shortly after landing at New York ’s LaGuardia airport.

Two pilots were killed at New York’s LaGuardia Airport late Sunday night after an Air Canada jet struck a Port Authority vehicle on the ground while landing, officials said.

Authorities said 39 passengers and crew members were taken to area hospitals, some with serious injuries.
