PHOENIX — A man is dead after being crushed by building materials in Phoenix, the city's police department said. Phoenix police officers responded to an injured person call near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday. When officers got to the area, they were directed to a body underneath a "load of building materials."
