Less than one month after signing with the University of Washington football program following two seasons at Texas, a former five-star wide receiver is now back in the portal.

Cook, who entered the transfer portal in November after parting ways with Texas, has now reportedly left Washington just weeks after transferring. The former five-star recruit signed with Texas in 2023 as one of the program's star-studded recruits alongside quarterback Arch Manning. However, Cook saw his playing time dwindle this season.

Johntay Cook, the one-time Texas Longhorns wide receiver and a former 5-star recruit, apparently lasted all of 17 days as a University of Washington football player, according to multiple football websites.

McLellan, who will be inducted in Washington, D.C. on May 8, is among the youngest new inductees in hall of fame history.
