CINCINNATI — Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson didn't report for training camp on Tuesday and was officially placed on the NFL's Reserve/Did Not Report list. The 30-year-old wants a new contract and is hoping that his absence is felt and leads to a contract extension in the near future.

On Wednesday, the Bengals officially placed Hendrickson on the reserve/did not report list. Hendrickson's placement on that list allows the Bengals to fine him $50,000 for each day he is absent from training camp (although some teams in the past have chosen to not enforce these fines).

Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson: "There's no way I would be able to sit there in the house and hear the practice whistles while also being a distraction."

The contract dispute between the Cincinnati Bengals and Trey Hendrickson took a wrong turn on Tuesday when the All-Pro edge rusher didn't report to training camp with the rest of the team's veteran players.

Multiple players and coaches reflected more concern about Stewart’s absence than Hendrickson’s given the rookie’s inexperience compared to Hendrickson entering Year 9.
