HONG KONG, Nov 6 (Reuters) - A threat by Donald Trump, who has been elected as the next U.S. president, to impose 60% tariffs on U.S. imports of Chinese goods poses major growth risks for the world's second-largest economy.

NEW YORK — Shoe brand Steve Madden will be cutting the goods that it imports from China by as much as 45% next year as it prepares for the return of President-elect Donald Trump who has pledged to slap steep tariffs across the board on imports from other countries.

China remains the biggest market for U.S. agriculture products despite a decline in imports since 2018 after Beijing slapped tariffs of up to 25% on soybeans, beef, pork, wheat, corn and sorghum in retaliation for duties on Chinese goods imposed by Trump.

China's exports grew at the fastest pace in over two years in October as factories rushed inventory to major markets in anticipation of further tariffs from the U.S. and the European Union, as the threat of a two-front trade war loomed large.

Chinese exports extended their growth streak in October, providing crucial support for an economy struggling to regain momentum.
