Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are reportedly targeting a 17-year-old batter named Ayush Mhatre in the IPL 2025 mega auction. As per several reports, CSK have even invited the player from Mumbai for selection trial before the auction.

Ricky Ponting suggested that CSK may rest MS Dhoni occasionally in IPL 2025 to maximize his impact. Despite stepping back from captaincy, Dhoni’s experience, leadership, and finishing skills remain invaluable for the franchise's ambitions for 6th title.

The 43-year-old, who is at the last stage of his playing career, only features in the IPL since announcing international retirement in 2020. He led CSK to five IPL titles under his leadership
