Giants, Jaxson Dart

New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart put together his finest outing of training camp Sunday. Despite the elements and some struggles earlier in camp, Dart was able to cap off his first week of training camp with a masterful performance.
Jaxson Dart, the 25th pick in the first round this past spring and very possibly Giants head coach Brian Daboll’s ticket to longevity as the leader for the Mara-Tisch-led franchise, is essentially on scholarship this season. He’s the young quarterback Daboll has craved to develop the same way he developed Josh Allen in Buffalo.
Jameis Winston has long been known for delivering funny lines during his interactions with media, and his latest quip included two fellow NFL players with Utah ties — his current New York Giants teammate Jaxson Dart and his former New Orleans Saints teammate Taysom Hill.
Russell Wilson is the Giants' starter, and with Jameis Winston a capable backup, Dart should have the time he needs to develop.
If Dart turns out to be a good player, Schoen and Daboll both will take and receive credit for the evaluation and the pick. But if Dart doesn’t pan out, it seems set up to lay the blame on Daboll and the coaching staff with Schoen surviving the mistake.
