A man who abducted his 7-year-old daughter, prompting an Amber Alert in Ohio, was shot and killed by police, authorities said.

A Columbus man who led Nebraska police on a 70-mile chase was previously accused of taking the child from the mother and assaulting them both.

Police canceled an AMBER alert Monday after a woman and her two young daughters were found safe in Texas, authorities said. The U.S, Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force, the FBI and Corpus Christi Police Department found the missing family and said they are safe.
