While Fox had respectable success with the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four movies (which starred Chris Evans as Johnny Storm pre-Captain America), the former studio saw a Josh Trank-directed 2015 reboot completely tank after a full reshoot, grossing only $167M worldwide. This time, it’s different — it’s Feige’s Fantastic Four.
First Steps will feature two credits scenes, and one has major implications on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

First Steps wastes no time diving into the team’s beginnings, and it does so with an exciting nod to the comics. The movie opens with a montage of their origin story and their very first showdown with Mole Man.
After three failed theatrical films (and one unreleased one), the Fantastic Four are finally connecting with audiences as their Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot made more in one day than the 2015 reboot made in its entire domestic run.
