Netflix has confirmed the highly anticipated sequel nearly 30 years after the original's release. Here's everything we know about the movie so far, including the cast.

Happy Gilmore 2 will be live on Netflix as the streamer announced the project back in May 2024 with a social media post. “Happy Gilmore is back! Adam Sandler will reprise his iconic role in a brand new movie coming to Netflix,” the post read on X (formerly known as Twitter), which featured an image of Sandler from the original film.

"Happy Gilmore 2" is in production. On Monday, Netflix announced the news with a photo of Adam Sandler's iconic Boston Bruins ice hockey jersey that his character wore in the first film. Sandler also took to Instagram to share the photo and captioned the post with a line he tells Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) in the film.

Actor and comedian Adam Sandler was spotted in Washington Township on Tuesday. Sandler has been spotted in and around New Jersey over the last few weeks while filming “Happy Gilmore 2,” the long-awaited sequel to his 1996 classic.

Last week, on Sept. 9, Sandler, who is renowned for his laid back fashions, could be seen wearing a robe and sunglasses (over some sweats and sneakers, naturally) on the “Happy Gilmore 2″ set in South Orange. That day also happened to be his birthday — he’s 58.
