A 29-year-old driver, who was dragged from the car and shot, is charged in a crash that injured dozens of people outside The Vermont Hollywood.

At least 30 people were injured – seven of them critically – when a vehicle drove into a crowd waiting in line outside an East Hollywood nightclub early Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A driver drove into a crowd in East Hollywood, injuring 36 people, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Police believe the crash was an intentional act.

Los Angeles prosecutors are set to charge Fernando Ramirez with felony assault after a car crashed into partygoers outside a nightclub, injuring 36 people. The incident resulted in bystanders shooting the driver.

The incident took place near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue in east Los Angeles.
