The White House expects up to 10% of federal employees to quit in a program meant to end work-from-home practices, senior administration officials said.

Employees have until Feb. 6 to decide whether to take the buyouts offered by OPM or return to the office— in most cases, five days a week.

The largest union representing U.S. government employees filed a lawsuit on Wednesday to block President Donald Trump's plan to reclassify up to 50,000 federal workers and make it easier to fire them.

The Trump administration is offering eight-month "deferred resignation" offers to federal workers who do not wish to return to the office, provided they resign within the next week, according to a White House memo.

In a Tuesday night email, the Office of Personnel Management told federal workers that they have until Feb. 6 to decide how to proceed. If they step down, they will continue to re
