Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen told President-elect Donald Trump “Greenland is not for sale” during a phone call this week, according to a press release from her office, as Trump continues to express interest in acquiring the Danish territory.

The European Commission said they have the tools to deal with "unfair economic coercion against a single member state".

Trump has not spoken publicly about the call, choosing instead to repost on social media the results of a 2019 poll that found that 68 percent of Greenlanders supported independence from Denmark.
