Southeast Texas is bracing for heavy rain and strong winds as a powerful storm system moves through the region. Coastal areas face the highest impacts, with gusts up to 40 mph and 3 to 4 inches of rain expected.

"Prolonged heavy rainfall" means there will be some flooding in the south of England on Sunday and Monday, the Environment Agency (EA) has said. The Met Office has issued a yellow rain warning for the region, in place until 09:00 GMT on Monday.

Homes were flooded and vehicles stranded Monday as a soggy and cold spell continued to disrupt life across parts of the U.K. and more wintry weather was expected.
