Veteran pitcher Rich Hill could again be on the hunt for a new team after being designated for assignment by the Royals on Tuesday.

Rich Hill’s latest stint in MLB was short-lived. After making two starts for the Kansas City Royals since his call-up on July 21, the former Michigan pitcher was designated for assignment by the team on Tuesday. Kansas City was his 14th major league team, tying Edwin Jackson’s MLB record.

Will there be a 15th team? Left-hander Rich Hill, who tied an MLB record by pitching for his 14th team, was designated for assignment by the Royals on Tuesday. To take his place on the roster, right-hander Thomas Hatch was recalled from Triple-A Omaha.

Hoffmann made his MLB debut earlier this season. He recorded a 3.86 ERA in 4 2/3 innings alongside five strikeouts in three relief appearances. The Royals originally acquired him from the Atlanta Braves in a package that also included outfielder Drew Waters and infielder CJ Alexander.
