Typhoon Danas has brought heavy winds and torrential rains to parts of Taiwan, killing two people and injuring more than 300 on the island’s densely populated west coast

Typhoon Danas left widespread flooding and devastation in its wake across Taiwan. Footage shows rainwater accumulating on roads in Changhua County on July 8, following heavy rains that swept through the region.

Most typhoons come ashore on the island’s sparsely populated east coast, but Danas scraped its crowded western edge. Nearly 300,000 households had no power on Monday.
