Rob's style was much more about "cool" images. It was just something different that readers weren't seeing that much at that time and it grabbed attention. The downfall for Rob is that many better artists started applying that type of page mentality to their work and did it better. Rob's work today is better than it was back then.

Jul 16, 2023 · I think Liefeld can draw. Tbh, the constant dissing of Liefeld is a little annoying. I have far more issues with artists whose style is totally derivative and bland than I do artists whose style, while not necessarily always my cup of tea, is identifiable and coherent. I don’t like all Liefeld art. Obviously his Cap drawing is funny.

Rob's personality led to a lot of controversy and some bad business dealings. The fans started turning on him. A lot of young fans started to sour on his art. He became a meme. Whether you like Liefeld's art or not, I think his art is unjustly picked on because there was plenty of worse stuff going around in the 90s.

Feb 8, 2016 · Saying Rob Liefeld plotted anything is being generous as evidenced by the fact that when he left Marvel X-Force became a much better book and the plots for Youngblood were basically incomprehensible. Also, his "conception" was "I want to draw Deathstroke".

yeah but i feel like with most of the people criticizing this cover they are actively going out of their way to find flaws in order for it to be deemed bad. obviously his older art was scuffed but here i dont think there is anything noticeably bad about it, and the cover seems solid, especially when he obviously isnt going for realism like other artists. just because youre worse than other ...

Oct 30, 2022 · Here's the thing: Rob Liefeld didn't write characters. He wrote walking cliches with obscured feet. Personally I don't think he has the right to complain about anyone adding layers of characterization to his absolutely nothing characters, because in order to write a good story featuring them, it's kind of what you need to do.
