LAFD HISTORY: 44 Years Ago Today On January 28, 1981, Apparatus Operator Thomas Taylor was killed in the line of duty during a roof collapse at the Cugee's Restaurant structure fire. AO Taylor's locker at Fire Station 60 remains untouched and the crew continue a special bond with his extended family - even though many members were not yet born when he died.
