Why November Is the Month of the Holy Souls November is the month the Catholic Church dedicates to praying for the Holy Souls in Purgatory — our brothers and sisters who have died in God’s grace but still undergo purification before entering Heaven. The Catechism teaches, “All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification” (CCC 1030).
